Made it to Monday: 1.20.2020

Whew! What a weekend. Rain. Snow. Wind. More snow. Ice. Rain…you get the picture. In short, we were better off staying home.

And that doesn’t bother me one bit. I have worked hard to be here, in my safe place; the place I love more than any other place in the world. And I love it more when I am stuffed up with my family. I will admit though, that after awhile watching movies gets old and there is only so much cleaning and playing with the cats you can do before one of them gets miffed and goes into thumper mode.

I’ve been working on creating personal sized travel soaps for awhile now. Well, not so much the soaps – but the molds. Each is being hand made in wood and then lined with a reusable liner. This, my friends, has been a much bigger task than I could have ever imagined. While the wood for the molds has been straight forward, the liners have proven to be a real pain in the rear.

I will spare you the details, but let’s just say that what I imagined would be a week or so long project has turned into three months.

Even the cutter I made for cutting the soaps turned out to be a much easier task than I thought.

In short, I soon found myself back to working on the liners and am making progress!

Perhaps it is the snow? Or the rain? Or the mix of it all coming together full circle to assist me in moving along?

I will be so happy to have these done as I have been looking forward to releasing them soon. Of course, once the molds are completed, the soaps will take about a week to make and then 4-6 weeks to fully cure before they are ready to sell.

These will be offered in packs of 5 in cute little muslin bags.
