Grand Opening

I am so excited after years of making soap to be able to open my virtual doors! This has been a love of mine since I was about 20 years old. Given that 20 years have passed (where does the time go???), I decided it was time to go for it.

I have been super busy the past few months getting everything in order. From making much more soap at once than I ever have, to designing labels, photographing product, to stocking my store and designing my website. Everything is being done by hand and by myself. Who knew how much really went into starting a business? BUT I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT.

I am so thankful to all of my friends and family who have been supportive of my venture and excited right along with me. It speaks deeply to my heart and fills my soul with gratitude, motivation and inspiration. I have to thank Rebecca (she knows who she is) for pushing and pushing me to take this plunge.

I have never been so excited!

Wise Oak Soapery is named to honor my father who passed in October 2017. He was a very strong and loving man, who loved the great oak tree (among others). His wisdom, love and guidance in my life and strong will and greatness in his is the basis for all that I do. So, for him, I officially open my doors on May 26 – his birthday.

All of my soaps are made from scratch using a variety of bases. Many are vegan, while some use goat’s milk, but I do not use tallow or lard in any of my soaps. I also use only sustainable palm oil, though this may change and I may not use it at all. I also custom make soaps based on specific needs. If you have an allergy to an specific ingredient, I am happy to design a soap that you can use without worry. And all of my soaps are packaged in eco-friendly papers.

Although I try to keep solid stock, I do sometimes run out of a particular soap. This is because it takes 4-6 weeks for each to cure once it is made. Because of this, I do use fluid hot process to speed up the cure time when needed. However, many of my soaps are old fashioned cold process batches.

And lastly, I do not use fragrance oils. Each of my soaps are formulated using only natural botanicals, essential oils, clays and fruits and vegetables.

If you have questions, feel free to ask! I will remain transparent in my processing, ingredients and operations.

WELCOME! I hope you are as excited as I am!
